ref.dangling

You leant an argument on a design that has since shipped. ship deletes the section it argued for, and from the next command on the citation reads exactly like a typo.

This section’s prose cites an anchor no prose file declares, and whether the design moved or was never there decides which edit it is.

Two or more doors are open and which one is right is a judgement about the work.

  • roadkeep section amend … --body - — the sentence is this section’s, so repointing the citation or rewriting the argument that leant on it arrives on stdin
  • roadkeep origin … — the cited anchor, if it ever was one: this answers which commit wrote that design and which took it, so a sentence can be corrected instead of deleted (reads only)
