char.mixed-endings

A file edited on two machines with different core.autocrlf settings, or a script that rewrote the whole file with Python’s write_text — which normalises every line ending, not just the ones it touched.

What it means

No verb writes an ending: normalize the file with git’s own text attribute, then re-run the gate.
